KOPTARI continues Christ's mission within the Catholic Church by assisting the leaders of religious congregations in Indonesia in accordance with the purpose of Canons 708-709 of the Code of Canon Law, by:

1. Responding to urgent needs in the world, especially in Indonesia, with a vision rooted in Indonesian culture;
2. Bearing witness to God's love in contemplation and selfless service;
3. Taking part in the Church's mission, proclaiming the Good News of Christ;
4. Serving individuals and society for the common good in the effort to free themselves from elements that oppose human dignity;
5. Consulting with Catholics, followers of other religions, and people of good will, to mutually strengthen one another in joint service;
