Today, Tuesday, September 24, 2024, the KOPTARI Plenary Session Day I began, attended by 113 religious leaders (priests, brothers, seminarians, and sisters) or their representatives. At 11:00 AM WITA, the session participants, arriving from various locations, began to gather at the meeting venue, the Jayakarta Hotel in Denpasar, Bali. After registering at the hotel lobby, the participants were escorted to their respective rooms. At 4:00 PM WITA, all participants gathered in the meeting room for a coffee break.

The first day of the meeting began with a Holy Mass celebrated by Mgr. Benedictus Estephanus Rolly Untu, MSC, as the liaison bishop between KWI and KOPTARI, accompanied by Fr. Agustinus Doni Tupen, MSF (KOPTARI Chairperson) and Fr. Selestinus Manalu, OFMCap (KOPTARI Secretary). In line with this year's KOPTARI session theme, "Pilgrims of Hope on the Journey Toward Peace," Mgr. Rolly, in his homily, invited the participants to walk together, following the example of Jesus Himself as a model for a journey that begins in the house of the Father and leads to the Father.

After the Holy Mass, the session continued with a welcome address and the opening of the session by the KOPTARI Chairperson. This was followed by a brief introduction of the current KOPTARI Board of Executives (BP KOPTARI) members and the introduction of the board members from each faction.

After dinner, each faction gathered to prepare their reports and evaluations. The factions were located in three different places..***
